The Need
Each year, youth in Lee County approach adulthood without the support and stability many others rely on during this stage of life.
Across Florida, an estimated 1,000 youth age out of foster care each year, often without permanent family connections or long-term support. Many other young people face housing instability or homelessness while trying to navigate education, employment, transportation, and daily responsibilities on their own.
For many of these youth, the transition into adulthood is overwhelming. They face an increased risk of homelessness, unemployment, and instability..
Our Response
Shepherd’s Haven was created to help meet the growing need for support and stability for youth preparing to enter adulthood.
Our home is designed to provide more than temporary housing. We seek to walk alongside youth experiencing foster care, housing instability, or homelessness by offering mentorship, structure, practical support, and guidance as they prepare for independent living.
