Our Story
Shepherd’s Haven was born out of a shared faith in Jesus Christ and a desire to follow His call to care for others. What began as two families opening our homes through foster care became something deeper as God placed a burden on our hearts for youth approaching adulthood without the support and guidance they needed.
As foster parents licensed through 4Kids and members of Vine Church of Southwest Florida, we have seen firsthand the challenges many youth face as they prepare to age out of foster care and enter adulthood. Along the way, we also became aware of the many young people outside of the foster care system who are experiencing homelessness, housing instability, and the reality of navigating life alone at a young age.
Rooted in John 10 and Jesus’ call to “tend my sheep” in John 21, Shepherd’s Haven was created to walk alongside youth ages 15–19 by providing mentorship, life skills, guidance, and support during this important stage of transition into adulthood.
Our hope is to reflect the heart of the Good Shepherd by creating a home where young people feel known, supported, shepherded, and equipped for what comes next.
